German Spitz make excellent pets. They are friendly, bright, bold, attentive and lively dogs.
They get along with people and dogs without any difficulty and are sound and long-living. They are very easily trained.
Their profuse and showy coat needs care, but not as much as you would assume, with grooming only required once or twice a month.
German Spitz are a breed that one just falls in love with. |

| hi lisa,you sound like your into your dogs. i'm looking for a giant schnauzer male puppie. if you know anyone who has any please let me know. i'm in the north but my friend in the south is looking for one. saw the german spitz at crufts a few years back, the were very happy to be in the show ring, we were in the ring nexdoor with the shar pei's. look like they are bundels of fun. good luck with finding the puppies nice homes. |

hi there,
i have seen at the pedigree dog show males and females in the ring but dont actually know the breeders. here is the link for the cyprus kennel club www.cypruskennelclub.net but if you give me a day or two i can ring round couple of breeders i know to find out they phone numbers maybe website links too. my female is from the uk she is from orion german spitz in scotland. shar peis are lovely dogs too did you bring one over with you? miss crufts dog show so much......anyway will let you know in a day or too nice to meet you and hope i can help you in your puppy search....

| thanks for the link lisa my email is sharpeisara@msn.com any help would be great my giant schnauzer is also a uk bitch, we have a shar pei male here we use to breed shar pei in the uk, but they became like designer handbag so we gave up on breeding. i think this side he is the only pedigree shar pei. my friend is living up in the polis area but she wants me to look over the puppie for her as i know my giants. crufts is a great day out and i miss that loads. last weekend we went to kyrenia dog show, lots of rescue dogs but a few pedigree most uk dogs. lots of imports from turkey but sad to say the quality is poor. lots of the tc people love there dogs made loads of new friends. didn't take the shar pei as he is a bad tempered old sod! next year you should come over and have a look. when do they show in the south? |

| they have a couple of shows a year four or five mostly when its cooler march may and september october not in august or us and the dogs would be deing lol....but as u say over here quality is poor we used to breed german shepherds and rottweilers in wales....then moved out here and got in to german spitz.....got my breeding male here. i would love to come over and see the dog show over there maybe meet you, most breeds of dogs do become like designer handbags dont they......over here some people buy pedigree dogs and dont know how to look after them properly and kick them out. there has just been a shar pei dog brought in to the limassol sirius dog shelter been dumped skin in an awfull state. people dont realise the care needed for dogs. i know most people on here wont agree with me selling my pedigree puppies when there are so many strays here but everyone has their own opinion and their own choices to make. taken your e-mail and will keep in touch will send you the details when i get them to there..... |

| if you need any help with getting the shar pei into shape in the shelter, i can give you some advice as they have loads of breed fault but the problems can be overcome with proper care as you know. if they can feed the shar pei a gluten free diet this should help its coat. only wash area where its located with a antiseptic disinfectant as they react badly to other products. if its infected it will need a course of antifungal shampoo treatment. they also suffer with bad ears, this can be the start of skin problems it seems to go hand in hand for some reason. if they need any help your more than welcome to give them my email. when showing starts we will be over to have a look, nice to see how the other half live lol. we are just about to open a european dog kennels here as the quality of kennels here is disgusting. so off to bed now to get some shut eye before tomorrows building shift starts again! |
