Well if it's good enough for Cedric, it's good enough for me (NOT)

I too will be joining ED in travelling to the old country but in my case I will be taking the short-cut, direct flight Laughing Laughing. with the national carrier, God bless the mouflon, in to the affluent, free areas which respect democracy, freedom of speech, civil rights etc. etc.

So if any members are on the overnight LHR-LCA flight this Friday and you see an smart, besuited but very overweight chap, do say hello, not that it will be me cos I don't look anything like that but I'm sure the fat man will appreciate a stranger saying hello.

As to whether I follow Eric's example by visiting the Occupied Areas, if only for a few hours, I dunno. Maybe, maybe not. I may just wander northwards up Ledra to see what all the fuss is about but then again I suspect I will find it more rewarding to go and stand on Free ground and have another look, from a distance, at Occupied Varosi and through the haze to a distant Karpas and.....well....dream.

My regards and sincerest thanks to all my brothers and sisters on the forum for their good wishes.

(Some, many or even all may be pleased to hear that I will be without an internet connection for a couple of weeks, but I'll have time to squeeze in a post or two in the next 12 hours or so ... )
