congratulations to cyprus on there fine performance against wales. as i live in england i watched the game on the BBC Wales channel and was very impressed by the cypriots football. the defence looked strong and throughtout the game cyprus threatend scoring more than just the one. i firmly believe that with the manager and the squad of players we have we can be confident going into the Euro 2008 qualifiers. It was also good to hear the constant vocal support of the cypriot fans (even thought there was not that many). The lad with the drum did a tremendous job of getting the crowd going, and i know how difficult it is to do that as i take my drum to scarborough games

| i dont know whats going on...Cypriot football teams (Int, u21 and domestic) have been putting in some good performances for their standards of late. Id say beating Wales was a good result, if you consider most of there players play pro in the English leagues. |

it was a very proffesional performance by cyprus and if you would have told me the score before the game i would not have believed it but with the performance it was a justified score..
PS main_source do you know anything about this cypriot league in england??? |

a professional performance is something I dont really see from Cyprus and this is why sometimes they play quite well but still end up losing. If they can get some consistancy in playing professionally, then they can win the next World Cup...nah joke....but if they start playing more professionally then there is no reason why they can push for a Euro spot in 2 years.
lol...i havent followed the Cypriot League in England for a little while...but lets just say some of my relatives used to be heavily involved a few years back. depends what u want to know. |

I didn't watch the game but if they played as good as they played with Ireland then I am not supriced they won!

The pace slowed somewhat in the second half but Cyprus were still the better side for the first 25 minutes, although they did not show the same spirit and determination.
The visitors surprisingly failed to pose any real threat to the Cypriot goal much to the disappointment of almost 500 Welsh supporters at the Tsirion stadium.
The coaches made numerous changes during the second half affecting the performances of both teams although Cyprus continued to press forward in search of a second goal.
But just as in the first half Price denied the home side with fine saves from Yiannakis Okkas after 70 and 75 minutes.
