I can understand why for some people it might be easier to associate with others that have a similar culture. What I don't understand is why we should be proud to be white, when white people have caused so much injustice to others and even to us.

Some societies fail some don't. Why you came to the conclusion that this is related with the races? And if in a country we already have multi race society then what is the solution? The one that our "friends" Denctash and Talat support? |

Let me put it simply, we have been occupied before, yes, but would you rather live with White Venetians or non-white Turkish 'Cypriots'? |

For me the how white somebody is doesn't matter at all. I have many non white friends.
In any case Turkish Cypriots are no less white than we are.
Also what I or you prefer is irrelevant. If the residents are of a particular mix, then thats it, either you like it or not. |

Not wanting to live with someone because of his colour IS racism. At least it produces racism. Nationalism is egoistic and fanatical.
"Let me put it simply, we have been occupied before, yes, but would you rather live with White Venetians or non-white Turkish 'Cypriots'?"
Even my little cousin wouldnt ask that.. Turkish cypriots have been living here with the greek cypriots before you where even born, you have no right to say that you want them to leave. If your talking about the turkish army and goverment i will agree with you, as for the greek cypriot army and goverment.. |

| I disagree with many of Black Cat's points. I do not like the idea of a one world unified state government. I am a Greek. I do not want to be united with the world and become one country. I love Greece more than any other country in the world and would fight for it no matter what! I would rather have Greece be the size of Crete becuase of occupation than to be united with the world as one country under a different name than Greece! I would rather live in an economicly poor Greece facing wars all the time like it used to than to be united with the world under one country. Greece is my home and my love. I do not care about any other country but Cyprus and Serbia. |

venizelist, welcome to the forum.
ofcource you love greece, i also do.
the dilema is not between being greek and poor, or not-greek and rich
those who believe in peace, and that this country can work and has a lot to gain from a combination of two cultures, have not gone in the dilemma of poor and rich...on the contrary i would say (in some cases) |
