The only problem being is that most Norwegians are against EU membership especially the farmers. Even under the EU they will not be able to get the fat subsidies that they are getting now for growing potatoes in the north.

Not so bg_turk.
It was true a few years back but more recent polls show that Norway would probably vote yes to membership. You're right about the farmers' subsidies but our farmers aren't exactly a majority, and the fishing industry has actually turned from no to yes. Our close links to the EU has made people realize that our present situation is that of having members' obligations but none of the rights. So I suspect that a new plebiscite would give us a yes for membership with all the advantages and disadvantages.

Norway fulfils all criteria so it can join any time. Its up to the Norwegians to decide really.

During my stay in Norway I was left with the impression that most Norwegians were against membership.

Bulgaria and Romania are entering this coming January.Poland is already in.Turkey is about to join.
So i propose Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia and of course Yemen.
Israel should join USA as its 52nd state ( Britain being is its 51st)

Antreis is disagree with you. I reckon that Iran and Aghanistan will be the ideal candidates. They are human rights experts, they like hot women and ofcourse they share common goals and culture with us. After turkey Iran will be the ideal candidate.

I think that EU had enough, bulgaria is not ready and probably EU in october will be negative due to mafia and corruption. In addition we cant afford any other bulgarian prostitutes,...we have enough of them

I also degree that Iran and Turkey are not the same. But is Turkey more similar to Iran or more similar to France?

why dont you answer your questions soto . Wink
to france imo.

the question can also be refraced. and thats the one i want you to answer.
do we as cypriots or does greece or the EU want a turkey more similar to france or to iran ?
thats the important question imo.

if you want to start writing similarities and differences it will not be that fruitfull , but besides the religion i am afraid there is no other strong similarity with iran.
