I hear that Baghdatis is not in his best form now but lets hope he will do well in Roland Garros. |

PARIS, France -- French hope Julien Benneteau upset 19th seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in a gripping five-set match that lit up a damp and overcast Roland Garros.
Benneteau, only ranked 10th in France, continued his fine form in the grand slams this season with a 3-6 6-4 6-3 6-7 6-4 victory in the second round match.
Baghdatis, the Australian Open finalist back in January, saved two match points in the fourth set, but faltered in the decider.
Benneteau, who went out to Andy Roddick in the third round of the Australian Open, appeared to be a victim of nerves as he blew a big lead in the fourth set and surrendered the match points leading 5-4.
But after Baghdatis swept through the fourth set tiebreaker, Benneteau rediscovered his touch and gained a crucial break of service early in the fifth set.
Baghdatis at times displayed the brilliance that had seen him make such an impression in the opening grand slam of the year, but Benneteau kept ahead, roared on by a vociferous French crowd.
Baghdatis saved a third match point but could not prevent his French opponent wrapping up a deserved victory.
"It's been tough for me after Australia, a lot of questions in my head, a lot of doubts," Baghdatis said. "I'm thinking about what people think, what people will say. I don't feel at ease."
