Hello administrators
There are a large number of really quite distasteful posts and replies, usually in the 'Meet New People' section that anybody - including children can access easily.
Of course what people do in their spare time is their business but can we please have a protected area for the sexually orientated threads where posters have to sign into a specific area and therefore cannot be read by just anybody who happens to visit the forum.
Thanks
Niki |

Hello Nicky and sorry for the late reply.
The target audience of this forum is adults. For this reason we can not censor sexually oriented comments or restrict them only in a separate "locked" section.
I believe that there are programs where parents can restrict the web access only to specific safe areas, while requiring a password to view the rest. This would have a similar effect to what you suggested not only for our Forum but for the whole web.
If your child is accessing the web unattended and you are concerned with the info that he/she might come across then I would suggest you install a web nanny kind of software on your computer.
Thanks |

Hi Nicki
Just to add, a fair amount of latitude is allowed on 'General Chat', but I did have cause to delete a thread yesterday, you may have seen it, which apart from having nothing to do with Cyprus, I found offensive, as I am sure would most of our members.
Cheers
Lana |

| mmm, Niki i agree with you i wish there was a way of putting the very sexual in nature threads somewhere children wont accidentally read them. I was on answerbag. com and they had this tiny little thing in the corner that adults could click to ask more explicit questions, you wouldnt even know it was there unless you were looking for it. I appreciate threads/posts are deleted if they are too offensive i just wouldnt like my children to read these things before they have had chance to delete them. It would be good to have a place where a password is needed to enter, maybe for members only. Oh well what can we do! |
