Thanks for the kind words and the 'virtual' support

I'll be on holidays in Cyprus then. Since I'm not travelling alone I can not make any promises but I will try to make my way to the north on that day.
The pics prove once again that its all worth it! Let alone the more profound meaning of the action.

Latest Update.

There is now a time and date set for this effort.

The Date is Sunday the 11th September

Time 10am to 1pm

The more people we can get to attend the more we can improve the condition of this cemetary. I would ask all people who want to see this happen to pledge to come along on this day. For those that can not attend in person but know of others in Cyprus who might be willing to offer 3 hours of their time in support of this effort, to contact these people and encourage them to get involved.

The time for talking about this 'idea' is fast approaching its end and the time for 'doing' is fast appraoching its start.

I would ask that those who are willing to commit to please contact me directly so that I can keep an idea of numbers current. I can be contacted via PM or via email - erolz(at)cream(dot)org

Thank you all. Let's make a difference, no matter how small.

I have read this thread with great interest.
Erolz, you are a guardian angel in this world, and you are guaranteed a place in heaven, if there is such a place. What a wonderfully practical way to have direct action and bring everybody together. Knowing a bit about how bureaucracy works in Cyprus I suggest you don't worry about any damn permits from anyone.By letting the cemeteries decline the way they did the authorities have lost any moral right to be consulted.
As the appointed day approaches I wish every one a wonderful day doing a most noble public service. You might like to take some photos Erol, and post them for all of us who will be green with envy because we are not there to participate. 8) 8) 8)

Erolz, I truley respect you for this initiative, I would certainly be up for helping when I am in Cyprus, unfortunately I have just returned and will be unlikely to go back until after the University year ends, but will be sure to post before next year to offer my services to a similar project either side of the line.
