Was one a "fanatic" of 'equality and democracy' and the other an opponent who wanted to keep the lion's share for his tyrannous minority, by any chance?

You seem to have a problem with egalitarian societies. It must be the oligarch in you!

The only real trouble in London is caused by Turkish (non-TC) drugs gangs that are engaged in killing each other.

I think the RoC should work with the EU on a strategy to use the money that was promised to the TCs for voting yes to the Anan plan to give them all EU CY passports and substantial grants for moving to the RoC, the UK or any part of the EU as they are entitled to as EU CY citizens.

Therefore the EU can fulfil it's promise to the TCs by ensuring this money goes directly to them and not a military regime.

I think virtually all TCs by now have EU RoC passports.

Most TCs that I know have UK passports.

As of November 2007:

49,680 Turkish Cypriots possessed Republic of Cyprus passports, and
77,374 held Republic of Cyprus identity cards.

In ledra street ,where tracktor tour takes u can hear people are speaks perfect Turkish ....u will shock when u speak with them that they are Georgians.... Doesn't mean who ever speak Turkish in south they are TC's. Kurds,Azerbaijani's are also speaks good Turkish.

Specially on public holidays lots of Turkish Cypriots visits the paphos also every weekends there is a touristic tours goes on between north and Paphos .

Yes, some builders stays in Paphos for easy way going to work but not permanently.

Also lots of Maronites returned back to Kormaciti village in North but only for weekends .They repaired they are homes and stays in weekends or public holidays of south .

It is very strange individually people are works together, eats together but when it comes for solution .... they goes far away from each other.

Hello Halil
You are correct regarding the large numbers of Georgians in Paphos though generally their first language is Russian as is my wife’s even though she is Kazakh; they are a product of the Soviet Union.
I wouldn’t doubt you when you say large numbers of Turkish Cypriots visit Paphos on tours; but doesn’t that say something to you? They are coming here and they are mixing with GC’s and being left to their own devices; no one is harassing or insulting them. I have mentioned in other posts that the largest landowner in my Son in Laws village near Paphos is a Turkish Cypriot and he owns half the valley.
I understand what Bananiot was saying; I witnessed it first hand during the riots in Tengiz, Kazakhstan a couple of years ago and was shocked how ordinary people can turn into a frenzied mob by the words of a few agitators.

Many things are confusing us as well Jimski something applies for arasta(lokmaci) and ledra street too .Lots of Cypriots passing boarders for shopping and eating together but when the time comes for political solution matter ....both sides has different views on solution. From this point breaking arguments starts.

bananiot and me and some other friends meets so often at both side of the boarder. we met without fear.we also visit each other homes too.In our groups we have peoples who are matches with our way of thoughts also lots of them thinks completely different than us ,still we talk ,dine we discuss the problems . By looking from outside everything must be seen strange isn't it .
