What I am saying is that the 9/11 was a terrorist act, but that was not the only terrorist act. What I don't like are double standards.
USA and their allies have killed much more innocent people than those other terrorists. So how can the others be terrorists while USA and friends are not? Do they have a licence to kill?

The American made missiles and bombs that rain on those people what do they bring? Love and happiness? Or death and terror?

just our of curiosity, what are the numbers of deaths, exactly, and does that include all the suicide bombers that go into public places and blow everyone up?

miltiades, I would not wish to insult you sir, you are obviously a man of some age and experience, however, you seem to be totally unable to concede that there may be an alternative to your own views, you are constantly ready to defend the U.S.A. regardless of the suffering they inflict on others, in the name of democracy, surely you must allow that if a man is prepared to lay down his life for what he believes in there may be a little justice in his cause. How else can an ill-equipped force deal with the might of the American war machine?, I do not say that I agree with suicide bombers but I am curious to know just what their grievances are, perhaps the people of those countries should be 'Asked' and not forcefully 'Told' how they should live in their own country. :? :? :? :? :?

Eliko I thouroughly enjoyed your post particularly your coments about Asked and not forcefully Told. I personally hold the view that the USA is the leader in terrorism and have not come more close to believe this than the invasion of Iraq. The coalition forces have acted in my opinion unethically, unjustly and with nothing less thatn malicious motivation. The only difference between Bush, Howard, Blair and Sadam is that there is no one to stop them in their path of destruction where as they were able to rampage Iraq and Afganistan, under false pretence and manipulation of their citizens.

Eliko , every day in Iraq , people that you are curious to know what their grievances are , who lay down their lives for what they believe as you so naively state , commit horrific barbaric murders on their OWN people , they have a habit , these people who are as you say "ill equipped " to hang their victims on street lamps , who blow themselves up in crowded markets and indiscriminately murder their OWN people , these murderers that you and many like you elevate to the highest echelons of morality and belief in their demonic cause.
You have a lot of growing up to do , just as I did and now realize how fucking stupid I was in the late 60s participating in demonstrations in London against Ian Smith of Rhodesia and in support of Robert Mugabe. I was fucking stupid and I own up to it now just as you will one day realize that you Sir owe the West everything that you possess including your education which you gained in the UK and the freedom that you today enjoy. You owe these savages sweet FA.
You detest Tony Blair and you hate George Bush , obviously the very late Sadam was your hero.

I support the West and the civilization that grants me the right to voice my opinions without fear of arrest or hindrance from the political world. I pay my taxes and I collect what legally is due to me , I do this in the W

I have just heard this morning on Australian TV News that America bombed Somalia this morning. I'd like to see how this is explained.

Good for you Miltiades.

By the way no one has said that Sadam was an innocent victim however, we must not allow the attrocities of the west to go unnoticed or push them under the carpet. We have been fortunate to receive education and have high standards of health in our resective nations yes. Yet there are many people in all of our so called western blessed societies that continue to experience poor health, poverty and discrimination.. So if we are so good then how come we have people in our societies living in conditions that some of us would find abhorent.

Kikapu wrote:But seriously, there is no free speech in the USA, under Bush. Yes you can say almost anything you want, but be prepaired to pay the price. Just look what they did to the "Dixie Chiks", after they said in the UK, that they were embarrassed about Bush going to war in Iraq. FOX NEWS has targeted anyone who spoke against the war. They have been the "Hit Man" for the Bush Administration. I can't wait until we get this " Born again Idiot, Son of a Bush" out of office, then perhaps we can go back to "America the Great", once again.

So much for free speech.

Hi Kikapu,

I see the Dixie Chicks thing as being demographically driven. Eddie Vedder did pretty much the same thing and it blew over rather quickly. But a representative Pearl Jam fan is more likely to agree with it than a representative Dixie Chicks fan. The DC's offended their fan base and that of their distribution networks. Not good for business. If there was a more coordinated effort to take Pearl Jam down, I'd cede you this point. Pearl Jam's audience is much larger and much more widespread (globally) than the DC's. And they really haven't been impacted in any meaningful way.

The moral of this story is that if you're running with shit-kickers, tread carefully when spouting anti-shit-kicker banter.

BTW, this should help to keep Bush in check:

Unfortunately, I don't see much progress being made any time soon.

miltiades, miltiades, simmer down a little and think about this, prior to the invasion of Iraq, how many suicide bombings were there, it would not surprise me if it were to transpire that these atrocities are actually encouraged by the U.S.A. and U.K. they are capable of anything, as to the troops, they are merely expendable cannon- fodder for the evil perpetrators of invasion. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Humanist you are entitled to your views regardless of how stupid they might be , same goes to the genius who thinks that the suicide bombers are really CIA agents in disguise . You have both the divine right to repress , yes repress not express , your views and I have the right to refrain from reading any further bullshit.

Yes Dinos, you're right. The Dixie Chicks sang Country and Western, so their biggest fans on average were bunch of "Red Necks", mostly from the South, and maybe even a bit Racist. Your typical Bush supporter.
