question: why does this data not have the study group used?

if you ask me the "responses" to the questions "there are no differences between turks and turkish cypriot" and "We have much in common with turkish cypriots" are either
1) made by people who have no stable opinion
2) or just plain BS

i visited illegally northern occupied cyprus last summer and you could spot the illegal turkish settlers from the turkish cypriots from a mile (literally!) away.

my mother, who was forced to leave her home in the north at age 15, told me how much in common they had with the TCs and understood (and still understands) their importance in Cypriot society.

in conclusion, i can just as well post some propaganda on the internet and claim it as research. is there any other way to verify the validity of this guys data?

Is that a public confession to an illegal act on your part or do you mean you visted the illegal northern etc (rahter than illegally visited - did you use false papers of land on a beach somehwere unseen?)

Magikthrill, there is no inconsistency between the responses to these two questions. In the one question, Greek Cypriots say that they do not believe that the Turkish Cypriots are like mainland Turks. In the other question, Greek Cypriots say that Turkish Cypriots have a lot in common with Greek Cypriots.

In other words, Greek Cypriots consider the Turkish Cypriots to be Cypriots rather than Turks.

hey erolz,

thanks for mocking my syntactical errors. english isn't my first language man, so stick to real facts. you seem to be quite good at them anyway (no im not being sarcastic)

besides if i meant what you claim to be i would have said

"i visited northern occupied cyprus illegally last summer"

that would make illegally and adverb, however by saying

"i visited illegally northern occupied cyprus..."

illegally is used to describe the statues of northern occupied cyprus.

or so i thought....

Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots share many things, including genes! We have the same occurance, for example, of the Thalassaemia gene, the one that makes people ill with the disease or at best carriers. Culturally we are not all that different either, despite the fact that much "mother" culture has "tresspassed" into the two communities, as a result of closer ties with the so called mother countries but also as a result of the world becoming a smaller place thanks to tv, internet etc. Some Greek or turkish nationalists may find these truths offensive. Who cares, they are responsible for our predicament.
