I am sure some of you are aware of this publication. But those who aren't should take a look every now and then,to read what progressive TCs think and say...I am particularly fond of Alkan Chaglar and his articles...

Here is an extract from his latest article, with the link for the full article....

Quote:
In the Turkish Cypriot community one recurrently hears calls by our many leaders to take ownership of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). With this attitude, the TRNC is presumed to exclusively represent or symbolise Turkish Cypriot interests, and if ever one deviates from this way of thinking by claiming that perhaps Turkish Cypriots already have their own state – the Republic of Cyprus, then you are accused of treachery, disloyalty or of demoting Turkish Cypriot self-determination. However, does the TRNC, an entity designed one thousand miles away in Ankara really represent Turkish Cypriot self determination?

Bir, thank you for that. I read Alkans article and I think it would help all of us if the likes of Zan, VP, eric and others took a page from his book.

He puts it so elegantly and correctly. If he can see this why don't the others?

I don't need to say amymore, Alkan has done a first class job.

Zan and VP take note.

Hello, what are we saying thats any different? what you find unpalatable is that all the negatives are prefered to what GCs offered in the past and even today, maybe its just because GC mentality has not changes one iota that there is an impass.
