Cyprus Schools

Hi all i am looking to move to paralimni this time next year ,i have 2 boys aged 7 so will be looking for schools , also 1 has autism is there special schools near or will it be main stream can anyone help with this question .Are there state schools or will it have to be private and what would you recommend thanks for your time.

I have some family in paralimni so i'll try and get in touch with them and let you know. I'm not sure about the autism school though, I know there's one in nicosia but that would be a 90 minute round trip drive for you.

I am sorry I cannot help in your area. As a brief overview, my daughter did three years at Foleys school in Limassol. It is a private school and todays fees are about £4,000 per year.
State run schools are Cypriot, good schools but run on a Greek language base. I am not sure if the Forces base in your area offer places for children in their school, it may be worth a phone call.
One thing about Cyprus private or state education is deemed to be a first priority for children. Good luck.

I had an idea this would be the case ,is home teaching a possibility or would that be out the question also what r the school holidays like are there so many like here in scotland because what they get here is beyond a joke .

Home teaching is never out of the question. You will probably have to be assessed by the Education Department, but it seems to be happening more and more nowadays.
School holidays in Cyprus tend to be longer, but then the weather helps because so much more is available. Give one of the schools a call or email, let them know your situation and I am sure they will point you in the right direction.

True the weather does help so if the hols r longer then not so bad .

School holidays are much longer here, my children are at private school and last summer they had 10 weeks off. The local school break up even earlier so they had even longer off.

I live in Limassol and can't help with schools in paralimni but there is a great school called Logos in Limassol who have a great reputation for helping children with special educational needs.
