TOTAL NUMBER OF SETTLERS (MIXED MARRIAGES EXCLUDED, ILLEGAL WORKERS EXCLUDED) = 57,500 APPROX.

So if within these settlers there have been approx 20.000 settler couples with approx. have two children each, under 18; means that registered settlers together with their children under 18 constitute almost half of the total registered population of North.

two children,if they are from anatolia i think the average should be three children.

I think, that 57plus number includes the children as well.

Be carefull.

The exaxt question is this

"D4. How long has your family been resident in Cyprus? (select one)"

And also I believe th exact quote of Alex was

"With this in mind, settlers who came in during the 70s (and their direct descendants) = 14%"

According to your calculations, the total population in north should be 390-400k. LOL.

(percentage of people saying thay are in Cyprus before 1974 is 67% 215x.67=145k give them 2 kids as well, then this makes 290k, add 100k gives you 390k)

No no, the number 225,000 we started with is the estimate I have been given for total population , kids included. The estimate I have been given for adults is, quite simply, the number of people who have the right to vote - 167,000 if I remember correctly.

Good news, friends ...

I have set up a web page on which I am uploading my report chapter by chapter ... already, the introduction and the first two chapters have been uploaded.

Please note that what you are downloading are still drafts. I would greatly appreciate your comments, either in this thread or at my e-mail, in order to improve the final text ...

The download site is:

http://www.help-net.gr/download.htm

I will be uploading new chapters as I write them, at the rate of one or two chapters per day ...
