ha ha ha....if you think the presence of Greek forces or Cypriot NG forces is enough to stop Turkey from marching all the way down to Paphos you are a bigger idiot than i thought you were..

In 1974 with next to zero resistance they lost 15 aircraft, sank two of their own destroyers, got 300 men killed, 500 wounded, and lost dozens of military vehicles, so how many casualties do you think they'll have now? I say bring them on... :)

Cheers

Humanist I'm pleased that your time in Cyprus was a happy occasion.
I fully endorse your statement that Turkish troops should get out of Cyprus , lets also include the Greek troops. I believe that only the T/Cs can influence the removal of the occupying troops , however our government has a lot to answer for in not clearly posting their agenda , and in doing absolutely nothing to convince the T/Cs that this island IS NOT GREEK but it is Cyprus for all its people. They should start by abandoning the Greek National anthem and commence actions that will generate the need required to encourage our T/C compatriots that our island is their island too.
As you may know I have visited the occupied part on two occasions , I have made new friends without having to alter my views but at the same time understanding theirs and their need to feel safe and secure in an environment where they are simply another minority.
I'm sorry I wasnt in Cyprus to meet you but perhaps next time.
Take care my friend.

Do you actually believe the crap your saying? You know that the moment greek forces leave and the cypriot defense forces are disbanded, turkey will march all the way down and take the entire island? Have you learned no lessons in history? I sincerely wonder if you have ever opened a book in your life!

It is a greek Island, and so I say HOURRAY for greek national anthem, HOURRAY for greek defense forces, and HOURRAY for a GREEK ISLAND!

Piss off you little shit !!

Dont you have a bottle to get to?

Nikitas wrote:Belenos,

You propose kicking the Turkish Cypriots out. And then how would you feel when you drive past their desrted homes and villages? When you think of the misery the expelled people will face where ever it is they go. Can you see yourself in the mirror every morning having done that? You need to do some thinking boy. After you do it come back to the forum.

Do all greek cypriots think like these guys on the forum? if so its pretty pathetic...

Tell me oh great and enlightened Nikitas, where did they get these homes and villages of theres? did they build them?

Well no they didnt, turkish army came, kicked out all the northern greek inhabitants and gave their homes to the 150 000 mainland turkish settlers.

Learn your history. The settlers from 40 years ago have no business on the island and should go home. How can you look into the mirror and think of the atrocities you failed to do anything about? As for me I couldnt care less where they go, they shouldnt have come to cyprus in the first place.

You are full of shit boy go back to sucking your mumies tits come back when when you are a man .
ps .How many comics have you read boy ?

Kinda like you should be sucking on a bottle right now? oh wheres the scotch when you need it?!

Learn to answer properly or I will keep treating you like dirt

Immediately after the Turkish invasion the United States Senate sent a team of investigators to Cyprus to write up a report on the consequences of the invasion which included a section titled “COSTS OF THE INVASION TO TURKEY”. An interesting portion of that section follows…

"Nearly 10% of Turkey's military force is now stationed on Cyprus, and there have been heavy logistical and support requirements. Civilian "technicians" and others have also gone to the island. Moreover, there were considerable losses during the invasion. According to responsible military sources in the field, the performance of Turkey's armed forces during the first phase of the invasion was very poor. Although Turkey apparently employed a basic plan its general staff had drafted and perfected over a period of several years, military observers say there was poor operational planning, inadequate communications, and a near total failure of joint operations among Turkish air, sea, and ground forces.

As a result, through tactical errors Turkey lost an estimated 15 aircraft during the invasion. It sank one of its own destroyers. Casualties were considered light, but included some 300 men killed and another 500 wounded. Had there been any substantial Greek Cypriot forces and tanks in the northern part of the island, casualties undoubtedly would have been considerably higher. One military observer suggested, for example, that because the Turkish airborne assault came at too high an altitude, a better organized and equipped Greek Cypriot army could have easily eliminated an entire Turkish airborne regiment swinging helplessly in the air
.”

You couldn't stop them in 74 when they had to come all the way from across the sea.
What makes you think you can today when they have 40000+ static force on the island as well as two sea ports and two airports at their use?

Right, so the target is now closer?
