For gods sake when are you Greek Cypriots going to wake up to the realities that an end-game is now taking place in Cyprus. You are in such a comfort zone concerning your own legitimacy that you are blind as to what this end game will be. International politics has moved on. One state will eventually recognise the TRNC followed by another, then another and another and another and another. It's going to happen so bloody well WAKE UP.

Muzzy, I gave you the answer in another thread! Just read it! The Cyprus problem will be solved, and Cyprus will be re-unified for all Cypriots, once you (your community) will realize that your problem is Turkey (the nationalist, Kemalist circles and the military,) and not the GCs and their terms for a solution! I feel sorry for you, for you live and are sinking in a pit of misinformation that doesn't allow you to see further than your nose! Another one such "toy" of misinformation is the idea that some circles cultivate among your community that all it needs is a referendum to decide what kind of a solution you want! If it was that simple, tell us why hasn't so far your leader Rauf Denktash thought about it all these years?

I hope you understand the difference between some old house collapsing after being abandoned for decades, and a house being stolen and given to others. The property of your grandfather is still there, and its value is the land, not some old house that collapsed.

In 2004 I made the prediction that at most, Azerbaijan and Pakistan would recognize the pseudo state in addition to Turkey. So far not even those two countries did. If nobody had recognized you before, don't hope that this will change now that we are in EU and have more power to affect those countries than before.

No, what I'm saying folks is that your community are in a coma. The world of international politics does not revolve around the EU. Look at it this way. Let's say that the upcoming negotiations fail, and not for want of trying. There will be negotiations about the status of the TRNC, just like there were in the Kosovo/Serbia issue. Whether you like it or not Kosovo has set a precedent and recognition of the TRNC will be inevitable. This will be qualified by a referendum. I would not be surprised if the international community says to you, ' look, you rejected the Annan Plan, you cannot agree about a joint future together so division is now the end game.'

Oracle, I know, for a fact that the T/C leadership will conduct a referendum in the event of failed negotiations. However I genuinely believe that Talat is being genuine in his desire for a common and mutually acceptable agreement. He has however stated that 'we cannot wait forever'. That waiting will end post the outcome of the upcoming negotiations. Why oh why do you not realise this and wake up ?

You underestimate the deep disappointment that we feel about your rejection of the unification of Cyprus in 2004. The Turkish Cypriot community is at the end of its tether and further failure to agree to re-unite will be the straw that breaks backs. They will adopt a 'sod you' attitude and who could blame them !

Kosovo set the president for Kurdistan.

What happened in Kosovo has absolutely nothing to do with Cyprus. In Cyprus we are talking about some pseudo state created by means of invasion from a foreign country and ethnic cleansing of the majority of the indigenous population.

And please stop the joke about you "waiting". You never waited. You declared the pseudo state in 1983 and since then you declare that there are two separate countries in Cyprus. And up until recently you were also saying that the Cyprus problem was "solved in 1974". It is not that you "waited". You did everything possible to get your pseudo state recognized and you failed. You can continue trying, and you will continue to fail, for the simple reason that you can not create a state by ethnically cleansing the majority of the population and declare the stolen territory as yours. Maybe you did this in the middle ages, but it is not the middle ages anymore.

As far as i know, if your father wants to go and live in his father's house, which as you say is being demolished (are you sure it did not collapse due to it being left uninhabited and thus non-maintained during all the years that passed?) you may apply to the RoC for compensation or aid in order to rebuilt it! Such aid is being provided in other cases I know!

Nil, I have also lost several close relatives in 1974, some of which been murdered by Turkish troops, but I never felt the need to be moaning about it in the forums! It is a fact of life that people from both communities have been murdered, in all the stages of the Cyprus conflict!

I'm sorry for the family you have lost Kifeas... But you lost them from TURKISH TROOPs. I lost them from our brothers... the Greek Cypriots.. it's not so much about losing, it's the fact that they deny everything that they have done and act as if they are completely innocent and then teach their kids ''there is no such thing as a Turkish Cypriot''.

Halil that sounds like it will be a big step for TRNC. :)
