A solution to the property issue.

I propose this for a solution to the property issue.

All GC property weather land/buildings buit on or not should be given back over 5 - 8 year period. Turkish settlers should be aloud to stay.

In return TC's should be given something they have never had, a newly built city of their own. This could ideally be set in the merosa plain or ajacent to Larnaca which i've always viwed as the TC heartland.

You can not find any tolerance from TC to this kind of ideas.

Please let us compromise, this why were in the EU and your still out in the cold. The Anna plan should have been put to a refarendom in 1990 not 14 years on. But it took your 34 years just to tolerate it.

I appreciate your exploration and sincerity but that plan suggests that more than %80 of TC will have to immigrate. Some of them are farmers, car mechanists,.. How are they going to build a new life? The plan should not bring too much suffering to anyone.

I agree, best way to go then is current annan plan but with a few tweaks to make the 75% no vote into a yes, without rocking the TC boat.

Can it be done?[/quote]

arent you being rather naive with all the indications pointing to GC maximilist demands even the UN has not received Papdops tweaks as you call them as being at all viable to start a new round of negotiations that will result in a solution.

Nick, if you change your proposal to "TCs being given a new house in the same town or village" it will find much more acceptance, since as detailer hints above they won't have to re-build their life from scratch. It will be just like buying a new house and getting rid of the old one, something that most people dream of doing anyway.
