Well on the face of it your 1-4 is fair. There are other figures which put t land at 38% pre 1960. but that is not the crux of my thinking although it may sway opinion, however:

Since 1963 tc have had no economy. Under the Makarios regime we were discouraged from exporting our goods, our cheques were always held up in the post etc etc. To-day we still are embargoed, and rely on back door exports and casinos and selling land for our existence. Meanwhile the gc have enjoyed almost fifty years of free and unrestricted trade with the world and have a developed a healthy economy. They have grown wealthy while we have not had the chance too. We have fifty years of catch up to do, and in that respect whatever the land or the population figures may or may not be, we need to kick start an economy which gc has hindered or diligently prevented for almost the last fifty years.

Gc has evolved economically, tc has not.
