There is nothing silly about the first idea. I have been saying that both languages should be compulsory for years. Some sad people think that it is selling out. I have learned about twenty Turkish words and already I am teaching the Turkish shop keepers round me a little Greek.

As to intermarrying, these things should be allowed to happen naturally. Religion is the major sticking point. That's why we should all be communists

Didn't you say you are on medication?

it should not have to be made compulsory, I mean, Why not include English as well then. They can all be options but one option must be taken.

In an ideal world if relations with Turkey were normalized, many Greek Cypriots may choose to learn Turkish for the economic benefit on their own and vice versa. Why make anyone do anything, each to their own I say.

Kasparov speaks forty languages fluently. Are you saying Cypriots are dumb? At my school in England it was compulsory to learn one foreign language. Is Turkish even an option in the ROC?

Viagra...??? Now there's an idea, if we could get enough of it for free on the national health, it'll keep the CYs of the Occupied Areas Occupied for the night and various farm animals very happy.

At my school in England, I too was made to speak a foreign language. I didn't really like it.

I am not sure about the rest of what you are saying though and how this relates to kasparov which in turn makes Cypriots dumb.

Well in truth there are Hadiths against chess. It is apparently worse than tavli. It's true that the two dimensional view of the world is not very spiritual, but I've never cared for hearsay, and it seems a good metaphor for the current Cypriot situation. The point is that after forty years of playing chess between Turks and Greeks, longer even, then we should at least be able to master speaking two languages. Perhaps there should be a Hadith against dividing Cyprus in two.
