ok,
...imagine two separate levels of government:
1. the Federal Government, which represents us as Individuals, and where as Citizens we represent ourselves as a People, Sovereign and in defense of the Universal Principals as Human Beings we are all committed to.
2. Cypriot Constituencies, where electors as Persons, by their residence, demonstrate there distinctiveness as Greeks or Turks, (and/or as a Maronites, Latins, Armenians, if they have territorial jurisdictions as well).
...such a system would secure our Freedom because as Cypriots we are equals, Individuals, without distinction or discrimination, and we have the Liberty to decide for ourselves how to sustain and promote the distinctiveness of ourselves, as Persons.
...it is a natural extension of this division (internal/external) of our politics to expect a National Assembly with a Territorial Jurisdiction to administer its components as a "zone". it would not mean a geographical division of the island, Sovereignty would not be the question, as it is today. rather each would identify an Agenda where they service a population by their needs as a "majority" where their "minorities" are recognised and respected providing for them as well, their special needs. thus, it would be possible to have a repopulation of the island where at least for some of the displaced, they could return as communities, and where Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots choose to be Grecophone or Turcophone (first) for whatever reason, not by ethnicity, but by their own volition.
does this help?
