I bought myself a dog to guard the house BUT, every time the doorbell rings it runs into a corner, it's a 'Boxer'.

Starve the dog thoroughly Before feeding, pack chunks of raw meat into a a shirt and a pair of pants and place behind door. Ring the bell, open the door. Let the dog eat. Repeat. Classical conditioning thanks to Ivan Pavlov.
Problem solved.
