Lest we Forget.

...there may be "Greeks", i am not one of them, acting accordingly, i am Greek and a Citizen of the World; you?

They need to be kicked RW, because we should all be very sick and tired of the Greekosphere! That is not kicking whilst they are down.

we have a one track mind, and that has to be wiped out!

I've been guilty of bashing both foreign parties in frustration.

But ultimately, I believe the key is within ourselves.
Focus needs to be first and foremost on the republic.
We need to put CY first, always.

Our problems are not Greece and Turkey. I view them as some distant, selfish entities that have absolutely no interest in the welfare of this country, only their own.
Our problem is with us and us alone.

...if you mean that God is great, instead of the Creed each religion or politic make, i agree with you Paphitis; blind intolerance is a horrible form of Ignorance. my point is one must be very careful in making easy generalisations where the scum (if you will) can hide among the ones guilty by association.

indeed, how we judge others is a way to measure how we judge ourselves, the "them" is no different to the "we", we make for ourselves as Persons our own worlds (as corporations with others), but one thing is clear, there are Universal Principals, and as Individuals, this fight, for Freedom, is Supreme, Liberty is another story and what is wanted is not to be confused with what is needed.

If we invested half the energy we have invested to Greece to other countries like the US, then we would be practically a State of the US Federation RW!

Our relationship with the US would be so good, they would do anything for us.

This Greek thing is holding us back big time. They are not the be all and end all.

...i we invested half the time in Justice and reconciliation we could respect each other and ourselves. if apart from being "Greeks" and "Turks" we can as Cypriots become better Human beings, that should be expected. and yes, i cringe too when the President of Cyprus, makes those special efforts to present a united front with Greece because of "Greekness", but it is more because no one else is so willing, and that what seems groveling seems inappropriate for a dynamic social-economy like Cyprus' .

Human Beings are naturally good. At least the vast majority are in any normal society no matter what country or ethnicity.

Politics however is a blood sport! There is little respect and sometimes there is no justice in politics, because at this level, humans are corruptible!

Knowing this, we must be intelligent enough to work the system. We are not that intelligent at all, we just think we are.

We are spending and investing far too much time on Greece for no reward. We could use all this energy and time and invest it towards other countries and build better relations with them rather then they not even acknowledging our existence!
