GR mate, give it up, you can't win with these non believers, whatever you say, they demand proof. They, however, CANNOT prove that a GOD does not exist, for the believer it is enough to have this faith period. Save your time and effort.

The botfly is not a nocturnal insect. In the daytime it’ll land from the top down on a person’s head, shoulders, or back and place an egg. It would never aim for the eye or come anywhere near the face. Idiots (mostly Americans) who go jungle trekking to places like Costa Rica or Bolivia without wearing a t-shirt and/or hat would be the most likely victims of botflies.

In this isolated case the most likely scenario is that a mosquito was sucking up blood from an animal like a cow or a horse and sucked up the egg. It later flew to the little girl while she slept and started sucking up blood near her eye and in the process transferred the egg.
