I have never been keen on Champagne as to a real wine connoisseur Champagne is a hugely over rate sparkling wine, be it Don Peri-trump or Crystal. Champagne has become the drink of the very rich and pretentious lot who see themselves as successful because the drink a sparkling wine that comes from the Champagne region of France. Its a " celebratory" drink associated with " having a good time".
Where as BORED is a REAL Wine with the added benefit of keeping the virus at bay .

I agree. I just couldn’t find a red that fitted in with bored-dom.

Lidl have been selling a very nice Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon recently. Reduced to around €2.40 a bottle. Ridiculous, if you look at UK prices. It’s also ideal and far more accurate than PCR, testing for the loss of smell/taste associated with Covid. So far, so good.

Chilean wines are almost as good as French ones. I have drunk many excellent such wines.and of course much realistically priced than my favourite french clarets.
I have tried most of Cypriot wines, some costing over 10 euros, pleasant they are but nowhere as refined as the french and chilean.
Cheers all
