Hi everyone,
I currently play football in England for Stevenage Borough. Im interested in playing in the top division in Cyprus. My first choice would be in Larnaca or Nicosia, then Limassol. I have contacts at the clubs as im Cypriot, but I don't want to talk to them until I know roughly the wages.
In top England footballers get paid between 60-120 thousand a week, whats the wages like in Cyprus.
Are Cypriot football seen to earn good money?
Any advice would be appreciated? |

sorry...
And most UK players are WELL over paid!
I think most footballers here are semi-professionals holding down a job and playing football. |

I agree with Twinkle on this. Footballers get obscene money and for what? You just have to look at the Beckham's and Rooney's of this world. Madness I tell you, madness

| Footballers wages are worth every penny. Career wise if you get ten years your lucky. From the age of 7 we had to travel three times a week, 30 miles, to train till I was 16 where I went full time, and moved away from home. Whats the difference between footballers and singers, or celebrities. Footballers work very very hard, and despite being one of the most wanted jobs, its one of the hardest. Rarely get a day off to see family. There is a lot of money in football, due to tv rights and sponsors, so why shouldn't we get paid. Your opinion is a joke. |

Footballers wages are on par with any other wage in CYPRUS................shit,and thats no joke the average hourly rate in cyprus is 2/3 pound an hour if you are lucky mate !!!!!!!!
As a pro if you were good enough to earn 300 quid a week here you would have to be the equivilant of David Beckham !!!!! |

7 years at £100,000 a week is not a bad payout is it, and still supporters on £300 a week turn up to watch players falling and diving all over the place. Is diving practised in the training sessions?

The average for top teams full time professional footballers is 30-40K CYP a year.
This can go up to 100K CYP for foreign stars however.
Basically a weekly wage in the Premiership translates as a yearly wage in the top flight here |

Cheers Highlander. My mates uncle is the new director of football at Ael Limmasol. Peter Theo.
Im currently on 800-1000 a week depending on how many matches I play in a week. I know living in Cyprus, is alot cheaper, but is what im on now, similar to what I would be getting, playing for a top club. Bit suprised to be honest, as Stevenage is a conference team, but fed up with this shit country. |
