Just wanted to let everyone know of my sheer joy to see Greece out of euro and Turkey making to the quater finals. I have had a smile on my dial all day  LIFE IS GREAT!!!! |

Firstly Plonker none of us Cypriots give a toss if Greece is in or out , the way they played they deserved to be out. It is only a game Plonker and many of us Cypriots see it as that , just a game, visit the" good luck Turkey thread" and you will see , on the other hand , bloody foreigners like you just dont see it do they !! |

yes milt it is just a game but dont kid yourself ,you were supporting greece and you were aching to see turkey lose last night. your "foreigners " line is quite boring.

| Not very sportsman like of you but nevertheless Greece deserved to be out. The team is i a trasition between old and new and will return stronger for the World Cup. They are after all the European Champions, Turkey has a lot of work to do to beat that. |

i would disagree with you milt, we do give a toss as cypriots how greece goes but agree they played that bad to deserve not to proceed. |

Can you please stop making such stupid comments. If you choose to not identify at all with Greece then that is your business but please refrain from making such sweeping statements.
Whilst you choose to alienate your self from hellenic culture and heritage, I can assure you that the majority of Cypriots do not wish to do the same. |

You can come back to speak to us when Turkey has reached Greece's level on the world football stage once you manage to win a coveted trophy such as the Euro or World Cup. Until then, you better watch out and keep training very hard just in case a Turkish Team is drawn against a Cypriot 1st division side such as Anorthosis in the European Champions League, because even Cypriot football has got your measure.  |

No worries Paphitis, im sure the likes of Galatasaray (uefa cup & super cup winners) and Fenerbahce (semifinalists in this years Champions League) are shaking in their boots with worry about being placed in the same group as a GC team. Infact only yesterday i was reading that Chelsea, Man Utd, Real Madrid, AC Milan were all protesting to FIFA about GC teams having an unfair advantage in the Champions League due to the superior quality of their players, stadiums, equipment etc... the whole of europe is worried about GC teams, they are a "super power of world football", in the true sense of the word. Actually come to think of it, UEFA could run a separate champions league competition with solely GC teams in it, it would be such a better quality comp and they would make sooo much more money from the advertising $$$$.
