It struck me that these words (extracted from a 'Partisan's song') could be used in many areas of conflict these days.

Those who oppressed the nation which produced the man that composed the song, are the SAME that are now engaged in oppression elsewhere.

"And you dare to call ME a 'Terrorist' whilst YOU look down your gun,

When I think of all the deeds that YOU have done.

YOU have plundered many nations,

Divided many lands,

YOU have 'Terrorized' the people, ruled with an iron hand,

YOU have brought this reign of 'Terror' to MY land !".

The people who write words such as these are the TRUE 'Patriots' of their nations, they are prepared to give their lives in defiance of subjugation and they do so without being 'Ordered To' by their masters. Wink

Absolutely spot on Eliko, to invade a Country and call someone a terrorist for daring to fight back is total stupidity.
Confused

Welcome on board RRichie, please keep a sharp look out on the 'Port Side' as there is a member among us who may have an 'Auger'.

Given half a chance, he will surely try to sink us, (such revelations offend his 'Mentors' you see) Laughing Laughing Wink

Both are too busy to do any more harm anywhere else at the moment.

i like this one,
it is for town cryers to shout
while they work

bombmaking is not productive thinking
bombmaking is a sin lest we forget
bombmaking is Nobility!
without grace.

..repeat many times, at the top of your lungs, it is a wonderful chant to remember while walking.

Very poignant Eliko

who wrote the words ..do you know

One of my favourites from my youth

It was written and sung!! by Leonard Cohen and refers to the French Partizans in the second world war but I think it is one of those songs where the words can be transferred to any similar situation

"The Partisan"

When they poured across the border
I was cautioned to surrender,
this I could not do;
I took my gun and vanished.
I have changed my name so often,
I've lost my wife and children
but I have many friends,
and some of them are with me.

An old woman gave us shelter,
kept us hidden in the garret,
then the soldiers came;
she died without a whisper.

There were three of us this morning
I'm the only one this evening
but I must go on;
the frontiers are my prison.

Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing,
through the graves the wind is blowing,
freedom soon will come;
