I think it depends on Turkey. If they want Dektash, then they will allow him to bring to Cyprus and register as many Turks (from turney) as he needs to win the elections. If this does not happen then Dektash will lose!

Do you think that it really matters who wins? The problem are the generals in Turkey. Those generals decide about important issues and not the "president" of the north.

I guess you are right. Its getting worst every year!

Since Turkey took over, the number of Turkish Cypriots has dwindled through emigration to about 80,000 while 100-100,000 mainland Turks have settled in the north. This means that the percentage of Turkish Cypriots in the total population has fallen from 18 to 11 per cent. In response to this demographic transformation, the Turkish Cypriots have established a populist movement called "This land is ours" which campaigns against Denktash's partitionist policy, the settlers and the role played by the Turkish army in the politics of northern Cyprus.

Dektash will not be defeated so easily. He is again giving their "citizenship" to thousands of settlers in order to vote for him:

But Even Settlers have begun to go againts Denktash . Denktash will be defeated at the end there is no other option for him . He has been Isolated by his own short minded policies and lack of vision. And thats the Law of Life .

And its wrong to believe that Turkish people in Turkey fully support Denktash It happened to chat with a Turkish guy and he was fully against the policies of Denktash . Some others have moderate views and thats very normal.
