if i was a soldier i would have voted for dysi Smile

seriously now, its a good move. better even 13 so they can go straight to their studies with no problems.

or even better none at all. but that its going to take a while

DISI had the power for 10 years and they did nothing in this direction. Instead of that they were promissing to make the army stronger with S-300 missles and the like.

This is just one of the desperate moves of DISI (I am sure more will follow) in order to attract some votes in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

They army could do with a serious reform. Personally I would suggest that army is reduced to 14 months but to be compulsory for women also. Women could take posts that do not require a lot of physical strength (offices, telecommunications, nursing etc).

Also the soldiers should learn things and not just waste their time. Technology could replace many of the boring things soldiers have to do. E.g. Instead of having posts (fylakia), we could replace them with cameras with night vision and motion detection that could be controlled from a central location.
