Just a Sigma article and the Wikipedia article below which also mentions it!

Oh and the French Navy L'Adroite visited Cyprus in November 2012 to showcase the ships capabilities to the CNG according to reports and participate in joint exercises!

That's all they need! Maybe a couple more but certainly they don't need a large fleet! :D

Ok well they are GoWind Offshore Patrol Vessels, the picture I posted is of the 'FSN L'Adroit' in Malta.
They are used for Safety and Security...... Very Nice!
My Sister in-law works for the French Government and Holds a Commission in the Marines, will text her and ask if there is any thing in French news about it.....

Turks gonna have a hissy fit?
US gonna put pressure on little CY?
Deal falls through.

Why would the US put pressure on CY if the boats are intended to secure the gas reserves which the US will extract? Unless the US intends to offer CY security over its gas reserves! The US Navy 6th fleet is nearby.

I think this idea was Israel's anyway! So if it is Israel's idea, surely Cyprus will have America's blessings! :D

This is a deal done behind closed doors amongst the 'relevant' party's concerned. It enables Cyprus to add value to the Israel-Cyprus-EU defense strategy for the eastern med. Things are moving along........

That's a sexy toy!

they are actually corvettes which are a bit more than a Patrol Boat!

they can carry a Helicopter and carry Surface to Surface Missiles and Surface to Air Missiles.

Perfect for the Exocets and that is some serious capability right there! :D

Yes I can understand this!

After the recent media attention on Cyprus because of the Banking collapse, I can understand the reasons why this has been left low key!

Maybe Israel/US and France are funding it so that CY can accept greater responsibility for securing valuable Gas Fields from Turkish aggression! :D

They will arm CY to the teeth in exchange for blood and to save their own skin.

With respect Max, I think they would like Cyprus to be better able to protect its own reserves not fight World War 3.

It is better for Cyprus to be able to secure its own EEZ anyway. I wouldn't have it any other way! Would you?

If other third countries wish to aid the RoC then that is fine! We are likely to get some assistance from Israel from all accounts.

But ultimately, the RoC EEZ is our responsibility, not Israel's!
