The peshmerga forces are expected to arrive in Kobane today.

Surely they must be running short of virgins

Eighty apparently crossed over at half past one this morning - without any arms or equipment, but escorted from the airport to the Turkish border by the Turkish intelligence agency - so we will see. More are supposed to be on the way, along with equipment, and one group is apparently traveling overland directly from north Iraq to Rojava without crossing through Turkey.

Between 50 and 200 Free Syrian Army rebels entered Kobane last night to join the fight against DAESH. What with the peshmerga coming and bringing heavy arms and equipment, Kobane could well end up being the graveyard for DAESH, who seem insistent on trying to take the town. The hubris caused by believing that God is on their side may be their downfall.

It seems that only ten crossed this morning and another 150, with heavy equipment, are waiting at a depot close to the border to cross over. It seems the ten who went this morning were going to make final negotiations about logistics with the YPG in Kobane before the main contingent crosses.

Tomorrow has been declared a global day of action in support of Kobane. There will be a rally in Trafalgar Square in London. There may be fireworks in Turkey, where the AKP regime has already made clear that it will respond with a heavy hand to any peaceful anti-genocide protests.

The YPG forces defending Kobane against DAESH have announced that yesterday morning at about 03.00 they took control of the road used by DAESH to bring supplies from Raqqa to the town.

Further confirmation that the YPG has cut DAESH’s supply line to Kobane:

http://www.ibtimes.com/kobani-kurdish-f ... ll-1722615

An interesting snippet from the report:

Among the fighters entering Kobani from Raqqa are underage recruits. After an accelerated 45-day training period, some of ISIS’ teenage recruits are sent to fight and more than 30 “kids” have already been killed on the Kobani frontlines, a spokesman for the anti-militant activist group Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently recently told IBTimes. The group reported last week that a 15-year-old had been killed in fighting around the city.

Fifteen year olds with 45 days’ training! Does that mean they have already lost their best fighters?
