LEBANON-PALESTINE SOLIDARITY CAMPAIGN

End Israel's Aggression Now – Lasting peace can only be built on justice

The Lebanon-Palestine Solidarity Campaign – comprising NGOs and activists, Greek and Turkish Cypriots, Lebanese, Palestinians, migrant and refugee organisations – is inviting everybody for a

Demonstration at Eleftheria Square
On Thursday, 27 July 2006 at 6.30 pm

Join us to condemn the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Palestine and the whole region and to demand

o The immediate stop of the brutal policy of war led by Israel - lasting peace can only be built on justice.
o The immediate stop of the war on Lebanon and Palestine.
o The withdrawal of the Israeli troops from the Gaza strip and all occupied territories in Palestine.
o The creation of an independent Palestinian state.
o The release of all prisoners kept in Israeli prisons without being charged.
o The respect of the sovereignty of all states in the region.
o That the international community, including the UNO and the European Union, must take all necessary measures to stop the Israeli aggression.
o That the international community, especially the UNO, should press and facilitate the evacuation of refugees to other EU member states and opens immediately corridors for humanitarian aid.
o That the Council of the European Union declares the existence of a mass influx of displaced persons from Lebanon and Palestine and takes a decision to grand immediate temporary protection to these people.
o That the EU declares Lebanon and the routes to Syria as a war zone so that protection of Lebanese and other refugees can be assured.
o That the Cyprus government stops the provision of facilitations to Britain, USA and Israel and other allies that support the war.
o That the Cyprus government provides temporary residence permit to Lebanese and Palestinian refugees, which will entail the basic rights to shelter, welfare benefit and health care.

I'm confused, I thought Hezbollah invaded Israel, killed Isreali soldiers then kidnapped two soldiers. Israel retaliated by attacking Hezbollah that reside in Lebanon.

Does anyone care that Israelis are being killed as well?

Thanks for the info sadik. It would be interesting to know your stance on the rights and wrongs of hezbullah.
Ther are a few threads flying around discussing this at the moment.

till now Israel has killed more than 600 lebanese the majority of them are children and women. destructed all the infrastructure of lebanaon instead of two soldiers they lost 30.
Israel is living on blood of inocent people. they have kidnapped hundreds of people instead of two

My opinion is that Isreal has gone massively over the top with their reaction this time.
But i also think that any protest should also address the actions of Hezbullah.
As usual it is the innocents who suffer
Good luck Sadik I know from reading your previous postings you are a person of peace.
