1. i fail to see the point of the execution. saddam lost all his power anyway. now we have a mess

2. the execution will ofcource bring more revengefull actions. poor black and mexican kids send by bush to die, will face the concequences of this act

3. a number of groups claim a non-fair trial. with so many evidence against him, they could have hanged him with a fair trial, but it seems that they are unable to do that as well.

4. it is scary that we are getting ....indifferent ? .... addicted ? .... to enjoy ? .... the process of a mans (albeit a dictators) execution. i dont know how i can describe the need of the modern man , to have a camera running around a man that will soon be executed! we are reaching the point where ones man death (or the process of it) is something that doesnot disturbs us anymore. on days like that i really doubt the values of the western civilization. ... who cares though! LONG LIVE HOLYWOOD

5. but since i was also one of those who watched it (even if i am now thinking that it was wrong) , i was amazed by saddams stance. the way he acted before his death showed a brave man. dictator and killer -yes. but still he died bravely.

Typical Taliban propaganda , what crap Mr Cypezokyli . Do you have anything to say about 70 Iraqis that also died yesterday , or rather murdered by the Savages that you so much love. Never once have you passed the opportunity to have a dig at the USA and the West. Give us your views on the 70 civilians massacred by car bombs , suicide f..ng martyrs , do you Sir have anything to say on this and cut the crap about a f..ng dictator dispatched to heavens , with cameras around him , the bastard never hesitated to hasten the entry to paradise of so many of his own people . Do I care about his feelings as the noose was place around his neck ? Just as much as I care about your comments.

I dont hate America, I do despise Bush tho..

His administration was NOT elected fairly, he is a puppet...

He dragged the UK into a war to support him against the rest of Europe, probably by some form of bribe, just like Suez in 1956.. Hey pull out of Suez and we will prop up your currency..

The UK should be sorting its problems at home, not supporting some idiot in his crusade for cheaper oil prices..

The fact that I am well read on the subject doesnt help...

OPEC wants to sell its oil in Euro's, but everytime it comes up the US threatens them with economic sanctions, because they dont want the rest of the world dumping dollar reserves, and buying Euro's..

Selling oil in euro's would mean cheaper oil for us in europe as we wouldnt have the same exchange rate issues, but instead, we panda to america so they can have cheap gas and prop up their failing economy...

Perhaps if the rest of the world got what it wanted, the US would need to do something about their 6mpg SUV's and CO2 emmissions...

Ah what does it matter, the world is on the verge of a new ice age anyway, and the US will be a frozen wasteland... like most of the rest of the world in the northern hemisphere...

Why do you love it so much? Hankering to live there?

in response to your comments, some radom thoughts of my own:
1. the "mess" is temporary, and i believe it will lead to a better iraq for the majority of iraqi's. you will never please everyone. as to why saddam had to die...as long as he was alive, the rest of the free world--mostly being the USA and the UK, would be subject to hostage situations to free saddam as a political prisoner.

2. this is what war is all about. people die in war. and it is always the less educated and the lower classes on the fron t lines. it is a fact of life.

3. you will never please all of the people all of the time. it was a world court. it was pretty damn fair in my eyes.

4. people enjoy seeing those who deserve it get thiers. that is human nature.

5. no comment. i did not see him go to the gallows. i seldom turn on my TV.

g.man: what is so bad about the USA looking after thier own interests... mothers protect thier children, my country protects mine. FYI, i do not drive a huge gas guzzler, not do any of my friends. i think Cyprus should worry about thier own pollution problems, which according to another thread, is pretty serious. as for the USA, we are also looking for alternatives to solve these problems. i don't see CY doing that, making the news. oh, maybe because you are such a tiny country in comparison to us. perhaps you would like to see us become a 3rd world nation? that would put alot on YOUR shoulders to help us out, as opposed to all the help we give other countries in the past and at present.
you want to know why i love the USA so much? i love it because i am free here, free to speak my mind. i have rights, and my pets have rights. i don't have to worry about people poisoning my dogs, and if i did, i know the authorities would do something about it. i love this country because i know i am getting some of the best medical treatment in the world. i love this country for it's cultural diversity. i love this country because freedom of religion menas ALL religions. i love this country because we are generous to all in need, and we can afford to be.
goddess bless the USA!

Ah right so you subscribe to the school of "I'm alright jack"

So you talk about pollution problems of the US vs Cyprus, interesting point, Have you seen Al Gore's "An inconvenient truth"? Have you seen the relative co2 outputs per capita of the US, and the ACTUAL co2 outputs of the US?

No I don't want to see America become a 3rd world country, I want to see them focus on their own internal issues before they go messing with the rest of the world to aid themselves...

Famous quote "you can't change others, you can only change yourselves"

Freedom of religion? yeah as long as your not a muslim since the patriot act...

Wow, your country doesnt poison pets, thats pretty much the same as most other countries in the world then... Yes there are a few sick INDIVIDUALS in cyprus, but its not national policy tho is it... Unlike the US's REFUSAL to ratify the kyoto accord which continues to allow them to poison the rest of the world.. thats a national policy!

The BIG difference between Cyprus and the US, other than population tho, is Cyprus is still a developing country, and has some time before it will be able to adopt all the recycling policies etc of the larger countries... The US is SUPPOSED to be the LEADER, it should lead by EXAMPLE, not by bullying everyone else and stating "why should it reduce its carbon emmissions before 3rd world countries"?

So what has the US done to aid reduction of Carbon emmissions, yes it has increased taxes on some larger engined vehicles, and then exempted from that all the vehicles people actually drive, SUV's are "commercial" etc...

I dont want to see everyone in the world buy hybrid vehicles, those come with their own pollution problems and arent as efficient as is suggested, however, to change the US individuals choice of vehicles to those small compacts and salloons, will have a HUGE impact on co2 emmissions...

I also believe that the UK and other european countries should start HEAVILY taxing SUV style vehicles, especially when in these countries they clog the roads at school run time, spitting out great wads of pollution compared to the small super-mini the mother could drive...

Goddess bless the USA??????? Which Goddess? Mother Nature? I dont think so somehow...

PS. If the US did become a 3rd world economic country it would put a lot on the rest of the world to help them out, and no doubt we would do it, but the world would be a better place once it had all restabilised and the Euro will become the world economic currency, not one single countries currency!

My granddaughter loves NORAD as it has a animated "Where is father Christmas" site that plots Santa's progress across the world on Xmas eve

GorillaGal, for goodness sake, read up on your country's history before expounding it's virtues, have you no concept of how you arrived in the position you are now in ?, your nation carries the burden of responsibility for more suffering worldwide than ANY predecessor, your 'culture' has destroyed respectability to such a degree it has become almost impossible to live harmoniously anywhere on the face of the earth, may God help us all now that America is developing space exploration. You actually boast of the decadence you should be ashamed of and seem to be oblivious to it, you condemn any nation that strives to maintain it's own decency and inject the poison of your own, by force of arms, deception and corruption, we see it quite clearly here as we do not live in a state of self-induced euphoria, nor are we fooled by political hype, we are ordinary folk with open eyes and minds who are powerless to defend ourselves against the aggressive onslaught of your mighty '6 mile high' bombers, it's a little different on the ground though, isn't it

My good friend, there'l be many conspiracy theorists who will argue that he is indeed still alive.

I wouldn't be surprised -- he had so many doubles that if you asked the real Sadam to stand up you would be killed in the rush  .

I must admit the capture seemed a bit too convenient for my liking  .

Although if it was one of Sadams doubles you would think he would be shouting that out at the trail :?

The American bashers are simply people who are intensely jealous that they can not be a part of this fabulous nation.
