Hotel in Agia Napa? Asterias Beach,Olympic lagoon,Anonymous?

Postby Dyonisos35 » Thu Mar 29, 2007 10:18 pm

Hello Everybody

we (my wife and I together with our 3 young kids (8,7 and 4 years old)) are planning a week holiday end of April-beginning of May in Agia Napa area.
we booked our flights, a car rental, and now want to book the accomodation.

after some investigation on internet, we are hesitating between 3 hotels:

the Asterias Beach, the Olympic lagoon Resort, or the Anonymous beach

we are basically looking for a comfortable but quiet hotel (not necessarily a luxurious one) with great frontbeach so that the kids can have an enjoyable Easter break.

We would very much appreciate to get some feedback/experience on these hotels/locations so that make the right choice.

thanks very much in advance!!!

Kind regards
Denis

Hi Denis

I was in Ayia Napa at the exact same time last year- the weather was gorgeous (rained briefly for about half an hour on one day but that was it) and the resort wasn't too busy as the season was just starting - much better for people, such as yourself, with young families as the heat wasn't as intense as it can be later on (in August you walked outside the air con apartment and you were hit by a tidal wave of heat that knocked you for six!!)

I went with a girlfriend (no, nothing went on like that!  ) and we stayed at the Pavlo Napa which was great location wise - just near Nissi Beach but near enough to all the bars and clubs - and very clean and I remember spotting an animation team with infinite patience and energy who made sure there was lots going on for kids (big and small) during the day and in the evening.

Nissi beach is gorgeous, Ayia Napa main beach isn't as nice and was busier. The area on the whole has lots of restaurants of varying quality. The Thai restaurant was very good and a couple of the tavernas. Ayia Napa is a very well developed resort (maybe a little too much) and there's lots of English and Scandinavians there. The locals are **very** friendly - watch your wife haha - and will ensure you have a great time - especially when it's the beginning of the season adn they are not weary of it all!

Hope this helps you - have a great holiday!
