By his own admission he has been away from his place of birth (Cyprus) for over 40 years.

Kikapu, rightly he has visited his mother land for a week or two.

Can you tell me how can he explain to all the others in this forum his experience's about Cyprus given the fact that he was there for such little time?

I would like to see kikapu visiting Cyprus every year! For a number of years! Different times of the year. possibly two and three times in the same year.

Then i will listen to his experiences and his opinion.

In anyway! I hope that this was a good start!

You miserable git, everyone else is enjoying his story!

Jerry...., I thought you have grown up and stop listening to stories!

I love stories, especially about Cyprus. Incidentally Kikapu does mention that he celebrated his 52nd birthday in Cyprus, you should pay more attention :)

First of all, I'm 52 years old, and secondly, I don't need to stick my head up a cow's ass, to know that the meat is fresh. :!:

I hope you're able to work that one out.....

I was not laying on the beach like most holiday makers. I made effort to travel all points of interest and more, and talk to as many people as possible, to get their reaction towards a Turkish Cypriot, travelling in the South. To my amazement, I was well received by everyone.

What's so hard for you to understand about that.

I was really looking forward to this story but lost all interest when I read this in the second installment of this "masterpiece"....

Kikapu wrote:As we walked around the corner, I could hear Turkish being spoken. Again, I was warned by Lana not to speak Turkish while visiting Cyprus, as not to create any problems for ourselves. So we approached these elderly gentlemen, about 4 of them. They were in fact 1 TC, 2 GC's and 1 Armenian. So I joined in the conversation....

1TC, 2GC's and 1 Armenian TALKING TURKISH :?:

    Sorry but I have to agree with zan on this one...Kikapu is definately telling us a Story and putting a political spin on everything.

Where have you ever been to as a TOURIST and not had people kiss your ass till they can see their reflection on it?

PS: And before anyone jumps down my throat, NO, it's not because I don't like what he's saying (even though I honestly don't :?, I wouldn't dare to try discredit him for those reasons alone). Anyways I shall read the rest before commenting further....

Hello T_C,

Unlike Zan and other Partitionist and Propagandist that you may want to listen to, your loss by the way, I can direct you to this Turkish man's small shoes shop.

The TC was speaking Turkish to the Armenian .

The GC's did not speak Turkish.

TC man spoke both Turkish and Greek

The Armenian did not speak Greek

The TC man who spoke both Greek and Turkish was interpreting to all of them.

The TC mans little shoe shop is directly opposite the Black Turtle Restaurant, which is on 11 Mehmet Ali street. Larnaca.

The street is only about 8 ft wide, so you cannot miss it.

Does all this help you. If not, I can try to describe each of them for you if you like.

Sorry to treat you in this way, but when ever you want to compare me with a Propagandist and Partitionist, you don't leave me too much choice.

Now go and wash your mouth out with soap.

Birkibrisli wrote:Great writing/reading,Kikapu...Ignore my comments in the other thread...I have discovered the jewel in the crown...Just want to ask you this at this point:
How did you feel standing in the ROC and looking at the TRNC???

Bir,

The experience of looking at the North from the RoC was very depressing for me. Seeing what has happened to Nicosia within the city walls was even more depressing. How anyone across the Green Line ever say, that they are living in a country called the "TRNC" and not Cyprus, hurts even more. I felt like I could reach and touch the other side, but was not able to. I can only wait until, I'm able to, one day soon.

Having met a family member in Nicosia on my last day in Cyprus, in the RoC, had made things really clear to me, which the Partitionist never talk about, but I will write them on my last page, so be sure to read that.

DT wrote:Being Cyprus it was only a matter of time before you mentioned a friend of mine. Glad you enjoyed Zannettos Kikapu (the jolly giant) I'll let him know tonight that you enjoyed your meal there and that you've written to us about it.

DT,

I wished I caught you before you went out to eat. I told the young lady there ( about 20-25 years old) of who I was. I'm sure she talked with the rest of the crew there. I got the impression, it was a family run business, and a good business it is. If you are referring to the large man in there, as the jolly Giant, he brought the bill to us. I even told him that, he did not charge for the 2 Cypriot coffees, which he replied, it was on the house.
