Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

i'm new and not sure where i should be posting this but maybe admin can move or direct it in the correct space?
We are moving to Cyprus the end of next year,i have 7 show dogs i also take training classes, judge and run shows..........i would love to set up a show for a dog charity in Cyprus, hopefully it could become a yearly event over here so money would be coming in every year, once in Cyprus i will definitely be helping out as i am retired although not of retiring age but medically retired from nursing for health reasons so i cant walk miles but i can scoop poop with the best of them!
i have the charity number for the Limassol shelter, which i need to get a licence to run the show but i'd like some contact with someone to do with the shelter itself..................if someone could contact me?
my email is [email protected]
thanks

Hi Pauline

I am moving over next year too, hopefully around April. I will be on the other side of the island, but if there is any way I could get involved I will help. I am not terribly experienced, I have taken my dog through her Bronze and Silver Good Citizenship, and have always had dogs. I didn't even go for Gold because I knew she would never do her down stay after I had left the room. I enjoy going to Crufts, but have to say I preferred Scrufts! Anything we can do to help the doggies over there I am sure will help make a difference.

Hi Dee
we are in Hereford at present......small world!...............i wasnt very clear about the training......i do puppy socialisation and ringcraft, not obedience so probably not much call for my skills for that over there but i am hoping to put together a companion show here for them later this year and hopefully encoraging my friends to make it an anual event in my absence. I will be bringing 6 show dogs with me [ heaven help me!] but i dont suppose i'll get to do much breeding or showing over there!
have a look at my furbabies here www.freewebs.com/weiambea
catch up with you sometme later no doubt

Hi Pauline

What a wonderful website, it had me crying they are all so beautiful. We have a Springer, we did have two but sadly we lost my Ellie last year. We still have her Mom Lucy who is adorable, she is her Daddies little girl! My partner adores Beagles, and would love to have one. Since losing Ellie we have been tempted so many times to have another one, but have so far managed to hold off until we move to Cyprus next year and hopefully rehome a dog from the shelter. Even last week we were looking in the paper, and we go to the NCDL in Shrewsbury and have to drag ourselves away. Our Springers were from the NCDL, and the youngest was nearly 2 yrs when we had her, but I would really love a puppy. My partner keeps saying we can go and have a look when we see them in the paper, but I know I would have to bring one home so I don't even look. Let me know when you have your event, you aren't far away I will come and support it.

We are moving to a little village called Sotira, not far from Protaras and Ayia Napa.

Are you having any stands at your dog show? If you are I have a paste table and lots of things to sell to make money for the dogs.

Are you sorting out the transportation of your dogs yourself or going through a company?

hadn't thought of stalls but why not!
i have just had a quote from Ladyhaye for 4 dogs @£1600
so i'm thinking of doing the BA cargo route 2 can travel on the same flight as excess bagage charged at £4.77 per kilo! so 2 seperate flights for us to get there plus the other 2 dogs as pure cargo on yet another flight [ dont know on costs for that yet though] but it seems the better option, i have found a place that does the travel boxes i need for £25 inc vat & p.p......the shippers quoted me £60 each!
this is my email to save clogging the boards

Hi There

It would be nice to have a dog show in the Limassol area. We attend the Hot Dog Show run by Paphiakos- see website
http://olympuswebdesign.com/paphiakos
It is a wonderful fundraising day for the Paphos shelter and is very well attended by dogs and owners. The Limassol shelter really needs some help at present

There is also the Cyprus Kennel Club for those wanting to seriously show dogs. Only know what I have read on the website

We run a branch of the UK company 'Barking Mad' here in Cyprus if we can be of any assistance
best of luck
Helen
