Having a baby in Cyprus

Postby JLShill » Wed May 16, 2007 3:33 pm

I'm due to move to Cyprus shortly and am 3 1/2 months pregnant (due 19th November '07). I'm really nervous about having my baby in Cyprus and just wondered if anyone had any experience of pregnancy/child birth in Cyprus. Does anyone have any recommendations for private health insurance too - I'm not sure whether its best to organise this from the UK or via a Cyprus based company? Thanks

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
My advice to you regarding health insurance would be to get it sorted before you move to Cyprus.

P.S. Im going to be a Mummy for the first time also, due the beggining of December :D

Ah, congratulations to you too! Isn't it exciting?

We're moving to the Paphos area. How long have you been in Larnaca and what's the antenatal care like there?

Exciting but a bit nerve wracking at times too :? We are actually back in the UK and will be up until the birth due to my partners work, he is from Larnaca so we will be over for a few weeks during the summer. I found the best private Clinic/Hospital in Larnaca is St.Rafaels, it's beside Orphanidies supermarket, the Doctors, Nurses everyone there are really nice and helpfull. I don't know the best place near Paphos Im afraid. My best suggestion to you would to go and look on Cyprus-net and check out the private Clinics there. Good Luck and keep me up to date :)

I know what you mean - it doesn't matter how much you read or how much anyone tells you, it's still a bit scary when its actually happening to you! I'm sure we'll both be fine though :D

Thanks for the advice about cyprus-net - I'll check that out this morning and see what I come up with... Enjoy the lovely English weather we're having at the moment!! x

My daughter had both her babies in Limassol and the care and attention she received was excellent. The clinic used was Nina Pastides clinic which I believe was Ayia Anagyria. When I hear of experiences of some births in the UK I think my daughter's was much better.
