to more current events

how many t/c can truly sue greece for violations of human rights in cyprus?

What are the current events? The most current is the fact that TCs voted yes to the Cyprus's unification plan that would allow 120.00 refugees to return and GC rejected the unification plan by considering it an unfair and unviable plan. Moreover they had been made to believe that it was a partition plan prepared by Anglo-Americans in collaboration of Turkey...

We well know the Greek politics... When they feel themselves under international pressure; they immediatly change mouth and pretend that they changed but when they get the support of some international political organizations in favour of themselves, they immediately return to their well known, usual, traditional political stance. Greece's actions are all about hypocrisy about Turkey and Cyprus issue...

You know very well that the the number of GC's that would return is questionable to say the least. You know that the provisions of the Annan Plan were such that GC's would find it extreemely difficult to get their property back, let alone return.

So please, stop using the rhetoric that is bandied about by your leaders and take note of WHY we said no.

I would have thought that Alexandros's survey makes it quite clear.

Just because we voted no does not mean we don't want unification.

I said GCs voted no to a unification plan like Annan's. Not just because of their concerns about its implementation but I strongly believe that its provisions regarding the political equality of two communities also played a very big role. Even all of their concerns about properties and return have been satisfied; I'm sure Tassos and his team would make the same propaganda to make them believe that the plan was not fair because of it envisaged political equality of two communities.

It is obvious to me that majority of Hellene's will never accept any other political system than "one man one vote".

Perhaps he would try ... but he would no longer be convincing - just like Denktash wasn't convincing. Most GCs only really care about right of return and security. For most, "political equality" is a "secondary problem" that will be "tolerated" if the primary issues are resolved.

I've said it about one hundred times that this was the basic conclusion of my study of GCs, that "political equality" is a secondary issue. I think the only ones in the forum who still refuse to believe my statistics on this matter, are you and ... Piratis. :!: :)

Insan,

Your views seem to swing from one set of views to another set of views. We might as well be talking about the weather.

The concerns of the GC's were obviously not addressed and we obviously said no!

Regarding political equality, I do not have a problem with that as long as the human rights of the people that suffered are not compromised. Annan 5 did compromise the rights of those people. Saying that the property issue has been adequately addressed is false. Any plan that puts the rights of the owners of properties below the settlers and others that do not own the properties they currently reside in is a gross violation of human rights. You must understand that this is one of the most important issues for the GC's. A compromise on this issue will always lead to a no.

Your fixation with the 'Hellens' is a bit midboggling to say the least. You make them sound like some kind of mystical beings that have some overwhelming power to control everything. It is the people that will decide and if you think any politician has the ability to manipulate and control peoples views then you are very wrong. You are not dealing anymore with the uneducated masses of the past but with largely educated and well informed people.

Alexandros, I believe your statistics and what I pointed out is that if the primiry concerns of GC community has been satisfied, the secondary concerns would become the primary.(By encouragement of Hellenic Ruling Elite, though the majority rule already has been injected into their minds, anyway. ;)

The chairmen and frontmen of the Hellenic Organizations worldwide; colour of office more than the politicians of Hellenic World regarding the "hellenic causes". We know who they are behind the "traitor" accusations. We know well whom they consider as "traitors". We know how they threathen the ones who speak different things than what they believe is right. Even they can obtain grenades to attack the "traitors" in a small Island like Cyprus.

That sounds scary

I hope it doesn't happen, though I must admit I would not put it beyond us GCs ... :(

Injected into our minds? Is there no end to your 'Hellenic Ruling Elite' conspiracies? The people kick out the politicians if they do not go by the will of the people. Its the rules of democracy.
