Hi Jase,

Looking at another thread somewhere - the A O will not open until after 15th July.

As for alternative accommodation, it depends on the make up of your party who are travelling as A O is pretty much geared to families with children and does have quite a monopoly.

I gather some of the tour ops have been moving guests to the Miramare hotel, which is similar in ratings but will not have the same family facilities perhaps. A favourite hotel of mine is the Mediterranean Beach hotel (nearer to Ayios Tychonas than the A O) and is very nice for couples.

I believe the Posedonia Hotel is now offering All Inclusive, so if you have this as your board basis at the A O, it may be worth trying to get a move there. Again, it's nearer to Ay Tychonas but is on the beachfront.

Hope you get sorted out soon.

AND - to Get Real (maybe you should do as your name says). This is someones holiday who has probably saved hard to get a well earned rest and enjoyment. He doesn't live on our island - so please, at least have a little sympathy

Hi Jason,

First, I would wait to see what your tour operator offers (that's assuming you have booked a package holiday with flights, transfers and accommodation all provided).

If they offer one of the ones I mentioned, all well and good :-) Or, you could also try Arsinoe Hotel (opposite the Posedonia) and perhaps Kanika Pantheon (going further towards the old town of Limassol), Golden Arches also offer All Inclusive but not sure of the standards in comparison to Atlantica Oasis.

Hello came across this site by accident whilst trying to find pictures of the newly refurbished Atlantica Oasis!! ha ha i nearly died when i discovered the hotel my family and i were supposed to be staying at June 23rd for two weeks was nothing more than a building site. We stayed there in 2005 and everyone enjoyed it so much so decided that was the perfect place to go this year.My holiday company(Thomson) didn't seem to understand why i was so upset to finding out through complete strangers rather than them that there was a potential problem and up to Sat 2nd i was still being told the hotel would be ready for us June 23rd :(
Anyway today finally spoke to someone who sounded quite caring and she has confirmed the hotel wont be open till July 15th so now we have to start the whole process again as apparantly they dont have many other properties in Limassol so may have to move to another resort. The annoying thing is that had they listened to me two weeks ago we may have had a better chance of a decent hotel..just hope everyone else gets sorted too

Hi, My firend in Cyprus has been to see the Atlantica Oasis hotel. He spoke to the manager, who he knows well. he says he 'hopes to be open by 16th June' - my friend says no way - too much to do.
Thomson holidays have known the situation all along - so says the manager, he has had structural problems hence the delay.
You can email the hotel on [email protected] or telephone them on 0035725883500.
Don't worry if you get offered the Mirimare instead, it's a decent hotel in the group and you can read about it on 'trip advisor' web site.
Hope this helps.

Hi Jason

I have had some kind of guarantee that it is not open until 15th July. But I hear the Miramare is extremely nice, and not too far. Also the Ajax, is supposed to be of the same standard - ish.

Hope this helps

Thomson promised me they would get back today about alternative accomodation....they didn't so i called and was told nothing had been sorted yet but they promised me they would make contact asap! :?: Well i've decided to give them till Friday then seek legal advice, not really sure what my rights are so it can't hurt to find out. Apparantly i'm one of many and i do understand that but it still makes me angry,i did trying emailing hotel several times to try and get some sort of confirmation that Thomson were fully aware of the problem but also got no reply which is a shame because i would have loved to pass that info on to the snotty pre departures dept who claimed everything was fine almost two weeks ago.
