DJ makes record attempt today

A CYPRIOT D.J. yesterday announced his plans to achieve a place in the Guinness Book of World Records by playing music for over 88 hours which is the current record.

George Papapetrou also known as DJ Gee Papa, will start playing music from 8pm today at Limassol’s Nautical Club. Tickets sales and the proceeds from T-shirt sales at the event will be donated to breast cancer forum Europa Donna Cyprus.

The music marathon was accounted at a news conference in Limassol yesterday. The event is supported by Yermasoyia mayor Andreas Gavriellides.

Papapetrou called on the public for its support in his difficult feat. He said seven DJs had already tried and failed to beat the current world record. He said his aim was to break the 88 hours which will be completed by 2pm on Sunday and would attempt to play for a further 12 hours reaching a record playing of 100 hours.

Just thinking if he was making the attempt in Ayia Napa.....

Would the police shut him down at 1.30am?

Will he be sitting on a comode and performing?? How do toilet breaks work in this situation? Will he put on a long record (Bat out of Hell by Meatloaf is a long one) and then leg it to the cubicles when he needs to go??

Well all we gotta do is train you to last just ONE more day Ray and you'll be picking up that record baby! Can I be your trainer? I'll start whipping you from now to teach some obedience into you...

'Music' by John Miles is another long record!!

Is he actually doing this on the beach? Took the dog for a walk this morning and noticed lots of staging going up, just down from Famagusta nautical club. :? If not for this guy, anyone any ideas please? :)
