Yeah thanks Iceman...I get a big lump in my throat everytime I see these pictures.

It's such a shame that we don't spend enough time talking about THIS history and instead we're always talking about the 1960s :roll:

I'd never seen pictures this old of Cyprus, it makes me so happy to see these people!!!!

I can't believe I'm not in Cyprus anymore :cry: :cry:

wow .....amazing ....place looks so oppressed and dirty ...swear i could see a building site in one picture ....no change then

cant remember who ...but a english gentlemen of high stature once remarked about cyprus in the 1890s

a land of thieves ,liers and dusty roads ,,,simple people ,shackeld dogs who bark all night .. he was in paphos ..i was in paphos on the weekend

A Dutch lady, in the early 1900s, wrote about the Cypriots: "They build as if they are going to live forever, and they eat as if they are going to die tomorrow". :)

how true ....eating out here seems to be a national sport/hobby ..i have recently seen people eating 3 course meals at midnight ...even children ...

so sad to see people like theat

then we wonder why we have so many obese and unhealthy people
