I thought about your piece in terms of a tv show. I imagined having an intro, with people sat in front of their PC, teeth gnashing as they type their responses, perhaps hissing to themselves like snakes (well some of them). I even imagine Kifeas and his famous ball squeezing post (sorry Kifea but I cannnot not imagine a cartoon of it!) making the appropriate gestures. This would put the audience in the know about what is to follow. In fact such a show might give foreigners their most enligthening glimpse into our "problem" and the national character, showing how it is something shared that divides us.

Almost like the "Big Brother" show, but "live on stage" or a TV version.

Or like the Sopranos with that succession of fast scenes, put you in the picture quickly, and then the main event between the two politicians who are essentially more detailed portraits of us all. The more I think about the more it sounds like a piece that would have pancyprian appeal.

Kikapu, it was excellent man, it was NOT like a mother liking her "ugly" daughter. It was like a mother looking and admiring her beautiful daughter all the time (5 times for you).
Well for me it was only 1 time.

To tell you the truth I generally don't read long posts. I only read them if they are REALLY interesting, and even then I read them in stages -a few paragraphs each time. That's what I did with your scenario. I remember I stopped each time I had a good laugh. 3 times in total. And continued later...
That's how I read your (7?) episodes of visiting Cyprus as well btw.

You do have a telent in writing my friend.Never boring, always knowing how to keep the reader in suspence.

Oh well i better stop prasing you, other Tcs will hate you even more for having a "gavur" praising you...


You know what makes me really sad?
The fact that we have so much Cypriot talents spread in 4 corners of the world. You in Switzerland, Birkibrisli gardash in Australia, others in UK and USA....

NB. Btw has T-C (now garagoz) written his time in Cyprus story? If yes can anyone give me a link?

Well...In another life I was a TV producer. After Kikapu's effort i might have to come out of semi-retirement,Pyro kardash...

Next time I should spend a little bit more time really concentrate in what I write, so that we can get at least 24 shows to make a season, rather than write just off the top of my head, at the spur of the moment.

Go ahead and write a full length stage play.
With real characters from the Forum.Then we can form an Ensemble Theatre Company and stage the play in Cyprus,in English. People can play themselves in the play. I know a bit about directing,and I know just the right person to Produce it...

This might be the beginning of the end of the Cyprus Problem.

And here are some ideas for the working title..."Wating for Tasso"..."Get Real in The Trash Can"..'Too late for Talat'...""Prolonging the Problem is Bad Karma"..."True Cypriots Strike Again..."

You have a great idea you know. I saw "Saigon" on stage many years ago and from what I remember, it was quite a touching story. We can produce something along those lines, but make it a Comedy by taking the "piss" as to why the Cyprus Problems have continued this long. We will of course treat all those who have died with respect and dignity. All the material we need are already spread out in the Cyprus Forum's 200,000+ articles. The Forum is a "goldmine" with information for our play.

Yesssssss.I believe the subject lends itself to treatment like an epic play.
And we can take a lot of poetic licence on the stage. Stuff one couldn't get away with on TV...Here is some homework for U,mate. If you haven't seen or read any Brecht plays (especially the epic ones like Mother Courage) go and see one or failing that read a few of his plays. Then we can talk again...

And don't doubt your material...You have hit upon a winning formula with great comic potential...I read it twice too. It was funnier the second time...

Listen, I'm no writer. I just have a good sense of humour, a wise ass, and a sarcastic bastard, all in one.

I keep reminding T_C to publish his "Report", but so far, nothing.

How about " One sided satire", Piratis comes out smelling of roses", Free Sotos the innocent" and the best title of all for Kikapu must be " All Turks are scum and partitionist with non Cypriot names but please don't kick me off the island Mr GC, I have been working for you all my life"..... :lol:
