The point here is whether the "RoC' is abiding by that constitution or not and not as special conditions as to how the TRNC/KKTC is behaving. You cannot suspend law in a supposed legal state.

I've got a Core document that says:

51. In case of war or public danger threatening the life of the Republic or part thereof, certain of the fundamental rights guaranteed under and specified by the Constitution may be suspended . . .

But I am sure someone else can come up with something better.

Helloooo! Is this relevant or not?

Absolutely...In the TRNC/KKTC and not in the "RoC" that tells the world that it has the best interests of the Cypriot people at heart....That includes the TCs. Besides...Since you have become EU members the threat of war or danger to the republic has vanished. 8) 8)

Excuse me! But why are the UN in Cyprus if they weren't keeping the peace for what would otherwise be a time of war. With 40,000 Turkish soldiers occupying Cyprus the threat of war is VERY visible I would say!

I think that I have answered that on many occasions but for you.......

It was crucial for the Akritas Plan to work. The so called communal fighting, which consisted of armed GC gangs shooting and looting in TC areas, was just what Makarios needed to call in the UN and therefore become the recognised government of Cyprus...That trick has lasted to this day.

This is also backed up by the fact that the UN was as useful as a chocolate fire guard in Cyprus. They stood by and watched as hundreds of TCs were massacred.

No paliometoxo, TRNC doesn't exist, Turkish is an official language of the RoC, and it should be an EU official language! What I do not accept is for "karagioz" people such as Brian Siemen, who on the one hand say that they do not recognise the RoC, and on the other they do recognise the "TRNC" to be representing the TC Community as its "citizens," to initiate petitions in this direction!

PS: Brian, in case you do not know what a "Karagioz" is, in Cypriot culture, it is someone more or less like a clown or a joker in English!
