U.S.: No arms transfer to Cyprus

Postby insan » Sat Mar 05, 2005 12:55 pm

[World News]: WASHINGTON, March 2 : The U.S. State Department said Wednesday there has been no transfer of U.S.-made weapons from Turkey to Cyprus.

Recent reports in the Greek media have suggested Turkey was transferring weapons it received from the United States to the Turkish enclave of northern Cyprus.

On Tuesday, the State Department had said it had no information about such reports.

When asked about the alleged transfers again Wednesday, the department's deputy spokesman, Adam Ereli, said, "There's been no transfer of weapons."

The news itself says it all. Does it need any comments by me. I was waiting those eye witneses to come and tell me how big liar is US trying to hide the facts and protect "illegal" Turkish actions.

As far as I know the admin permitted us to quote several lines from a news/article and post it. There's an admin and moderators of this forum and they regularly monitor the forum. I'm the responsible of everything I have done. I'm well aware of that if I violate the rules of forum I will be banned.

Several pictures showing US made tanks and armored vehicles being unloaded in Famagusta have been published. Although the Cypriot government claims that these pictures were taken only a few days ago, I say that the exact date doesn't really matter. The point is that Turkey occupies the north part of Cyprus with American made weapons and the US government is maintaining double standards on the issue. It is as simple as that.
