GR., You're missing the point. You can say that Canada has an English and French identity, but the vast majority of Canadians think of themselves as being Canadian first. In regards to Cyprus - and to be honest, I'm basing this on what I have read - there is a more overt attachment to the 'mother countries' of Greece and Turkey, which makes people think of themselves more as Greek and Turkish than Cypriot. I mean, do you call yourself Greek Cypriot without thinking about it?
