On which matters GCs want majority rule?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Thanks BigDutch :D Though I'm surprised. I hope you are serious.

At a federal level I think this is the only way things will be able to work.

Working from the man in the street, up through local councils to the constituent state level appears to be the difficult bit.

Yes Insan, it does make sense, I like it, too. My initial reaction to it was 'well, sounds good, but not perfect, because of the chance of a bill being passed with the representation of only 25% of the 82% majority actually favouring it'. Then I realized that the system you propose has a second check added to it - the Presidential Council. So, unlikely as it may be for a bill to be passed by very narrow margins in the Senate, and especially if the popular belief is against it, then there exists a second safeguard against the wrong decision being made. Thus, the risk of such a 'bad', unpopular decision being made is significantly reduced (but not eliminated...?).
Acceptable.

Well. :D I'm happy to hear that it is acceptable for you too. Don't worry about the elimination of the "bad", unpopular decisions. We also have the supreme court and people of Cyprus which are well able to stop and punish the responsibles of "bad", unpopular decisions. And finally ECHR. :D

Ps: Why are you laughing out loud. Are you making fun of my ideas or what?
