Actually donum (skala) is not a standardized area measurement. It is of Turkish origin and its size varies from one place to another. In Cyprus it was standardized by the British to be equal to 14,400 sq. feet (1,600 sq. yards) which equates to 1,337.8 sq. meters. Only in Cyprus we use this size of area when we use the term donum. In other parts of the ex. Ottoman Empire, it is either totally unknown nowadays or it is equated with a different area size.

which kinda makes sense with what i said before about oikobetha or building plots varying in size from 520 to 600 metres

1 skala = 1338 m2 (although 1339m2 is also used)
1 oikopedo = 520m2
1 Acre (english acre) = 3 skales approx.

These are the official measurements.

Hope this helps
