It depends actually. Whether you like sea/mountains.
There are lots of great properties in Ayia Napa [Ayia thekla] and Protaras [Kapparis etc]. Paphos is quite cool as well if u want to check it out. Other than that, if it's for business you can try Nicosia centre, where you can find any amenity you ask.

I would prolly [probably :P ] go for Protaras and Nicosia if its for business.

In an inland village of >1500 inhabitants with very few other expats (who may have already spoilt the expat-villager relationship by a lack of sensitivity)

My parents chose Vavla (near Lefkara and Choirokitia)... not too many other expats, close to major towns and the coast and the mountains. Any of the villages in the foothills of Troodos would be my choice. Last choice would be either Agia Napa and Protaras - too many tourists, too distant from the major cities, and way too much development going on. However, if you want to live in a building site, either of those will suit you perfectly.

Pegia is a small Greek village on the Paphos hills that is very popular vith British ex-pats. There's only a few hundread Greeks in the village but there's twice or three many more time's ex-pats living there. There's also a really beautiful view of the sea and a Las Vegas type of view at night with all the dots lighted up.

However, there's a number of queit villages inbetween Larnaca and Limmasol just off the mortorway such as Chirokitia and Maroni and Zygi. It's nice and quiet, not tourisity, very accessible, 20 min to Laranca or Limmasol and 30 min to Nicosia. Plus, there' definetly an ex-pat community there but it's not in your face. I only know this becuase my uncle rents out his taverna every sunday to an English couple who hold sunday british lunch there and karraoki night for the ex-pats in the local area.

Sounds truly dreadful, no offence Nick... roast potatoes, boiled veg and beef... I'd be glad to get away from it... followed up by dubious renditions of Elvis and various 1970s hits... when I join the expats, I'm staying away from that!

My parents are in the process of moving to Vavla, near Choirokitia and I second your comments that it's a lovely area. They would have preferred Maroni, but nothing suited what they were looking for.

Pegia (the trnasliteration from the Greek) or Peyia, as the locals (Brits LOL!) call it, has a lot going for it; views from the slopes to the sea 5 or 6km away, some good tavernas, 2 banks, a couple of kiosks and still retains its Cypriot feel in spite of the large expat population.

Coral Bay nearby will certainly have karioke, I have never heard of it in Peyia, which taverna is it held in, Nick?
