This article tackles a central conundrum. The contradiction between the needs of an expanding economy, with relentless growth in water consuming tourism and property development, and an increasingly dire water shortage:

And slightly better now:

The reservoirs has been lagging behind last year's levels until a few days ago. Now ahead by 3.1%

Overall capacity is still only at 27.7% though

Yep, totals went up 5% over the weekend and, as you say, we are now ahead of last year. It wasn’t long ago we were 10% behind. It’s still raining here and set for more over the next week or so. With what looks like a big drop in tourism we seem fairly safe to get through the summer without cuts.

BTW. Have you seen all the stuff about Claire Torrey lately? She did the vocals on Pink Floyd’s “Great gig in the sky”.

No? Enlighten me please!

Fun fact: The great gig in the sky is on one of my most frequently played "car playlists". Wifey once uttered something degrading about her performance. Big mistake of course: volume has always been turned up extra since then

Another question: any insight on how steep the decline is expected to be?

I think they're being overly optimistic here, based upon other insights that have been coming out:

Also, if the war drags out then there will be a very significant increase in things like aviation fuel, with knock-on effects for tourism generally.

She's been in the news lately and the story popped up. Clare was a session singer in 1973. One day she got a call from Alan Parsons who was involved in the making of Dark side of the Moon at the time. They needed somebody who could sing without having words or music to convey the theme of dying/death. So over a couple of hours and a few takes Clare came out with what you can hear on the track. She said she didn't expect them to use it and was surprised to hear the finished effort. At the time the fee was £15; however, because it was a Sunday she got double time - £30. Fast forward 30+ years and she successfully sued the group, claiming that in essence, without having had any guidance, she was in fact joint composer of The Great Gig in the Sky. She received an undisclosed sum - backdated - and has been credited on all subsequent DSotM sales.

Given it's sold about 45 million copies you have to conclude Clare Torry became an overnight millionairess. :)
