Have heard many stories of balloon fishing but never tried it. When I used to fish with friends around Sydney, they always mentioned it but never got round to trying it. I have also heard of 'tyre inner tube' fishing in Cyprus. :D
I am now in the process of building a kontiki (motorised long line fishing machine) but have a long way to go yet. :)

I thought you were kidding me, so googled it. It looks very difficult and the equipment looks expensive. I'll stick to my kite. :)

Very expensive and more crap to carry down the rocks and surf...but sometimes you need to get behind the surf and thee is no other way...

Not mentioning the wierd looks you get at the beach carrying archery equipment... ...on the bright side, the surfers stay clear of your fishing

These days I just wear my long john wetsuit

OK, specifically for fishing there are other websites you can explore in Cyprus. However, if you are interested about information on Cyprus dams (including fish species you could find in each) then take a look at www.natureofcyprus.org .

None of the photos in there were taken this year, and really for most dams the situation in 2008 is desperate.

It should be better next year.
